Computers for Kids is a Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher (MAR) established in 2006 to help eliminate the digital divide. We work through schools and non profit organizations including Progressive Academy of Technology.

We are a Non-Profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing computer systems free of charge to underprivileged children and their families in the Fort Walton Beach, Florida area.  Donations of used computer equipment for the program come to us from local business, local school districts, and charitable individuals.

We take the donated computer equipment, and with the aid of some wonderful volunteers, refurbish and recondition them.  The computers are checked to meet a set of basic operational and usability requirements to make them a functional learning tool for their new owners.  These reconditioned computers are matched against a list of recipients enrolled in our 'Computers For Kids Program' and  transferred to their new owners and homes.
